Sad Kevin
A commemorative photo to mark the demise of the MIT beer opener that Kevin’s parents bought for him on the first day of college. After 11 years of rather regular use, it gave up the ghost and snapped in half, and now Kevin (and his entire team at work) has lost his faithful friend. End of a possession-era, on par with the Micorosoft-internship-era coffee mugs.

Visitors
We got a totally out of the blue call on Sunday morning – Chirag and Neha (Chirag is Kevin’s fraternity brother, we flew to NJ for their amazing wedding in May, they live very far away in Chicago) were actually 15 minutes away in Woodinville, doing a Seattle weekend, could they stop by to say hi? Wow! Totally! It was so great to see them, talk, and catch up. The timing was all wrong for the kiddo’s nap – he fell asleep six minutes before they arrived and resolutely slept through an hour and a half of conversation before I woke him up so that they could get a little bit of visiting time.
But in some ways that was selfishly awesome because we got to actually talk for a good stretch instead of all just being consumed with the busy toddler. 🙂 What a fun surprise visit.
